Welcome back to volume 3 of today with baseball. For those who are unfamiliar with what the phrase means. Check out the intro blog here.
Today’s moment? Roy Halladay’s No-Hitter 2010 NLDS Game 1
I warned you that these moments were going to be biased. Yea, I’m a Phillies fan – but for a decent stretch, Roy Halladay was one of the best damn aces in baseball. It wasn’t just the fact that when he was feeling his stuff, he was the closest thing to untouchable.. but it was more of the fact that no matter what, his sole mission was to give his skipper 8 strong innings.
Anyone who is a fan of the Ace of Spaeder on Twitter knows that Roy Halladay was a walking complete game. Doc was a bullpen coaches wet dream. Just look at this unreal nugget below.
I always say that I’ll remember exactly what happened and where I was the day Halladay wow’d us all in October. But unfortunately, I will always remember where I was when I first heard that Halladay was believed to be the pilot of the small plane crash in Florida that would take his life.
That’s the one thing that stings about sports that we’ve noticed recently with the passing of Kobe Bryant. Just shows how fragile your life really is. If you’re lucky enough to be reading this, love the ones around ya and hug your friends a little tighter the next time you see them.
