European qualifiers just don’t make any sense to me. Could never get a read on them before Covid, and now with Covid I have even less of a read on how games will play out. France tied Ukraine yesterday 1-1 despite Ukraine not even registering a shot on goal… Only in European World Cup Qualifying does that happen. Thankfully for those looking for a getaway from the madness we have been blessed with a USMNT friendly. Let me get you, the reader, in the mood for some USA soccer.

They boys square off against CONCACAF foe Jamaica in Austria, so don’t expect the typical MLS players donning the stars and stripes in this friendly. The European based USMNT team is lethal, and more importantly, they are extremely young. For all my non-soccer loving Boardy’s, please make sure you take a strong look at Yunus Musah over the next 2 games. The 18-year old NYC born midfielder was eligible to play for America and England. He played for England from U15-U18 but Gregg Berhalhter and the USMNT swooped in and got him. The haters will say it’s cause he couldn’t sniff the England roster, but they can kick rocks. Musah is a player.

Jamaica is a dark horse in CONCACAF, but they are without several key players including Michail Antonio of West Ham and 2020 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Andre Blake. They have a deep European based roster for a smaller CONCACAF country, but expect the talent and star power of the USMNT to overpower the Reggae Boyz.

USA -1.5 at +110 is the lone play today. Go go USA, and kick it easy fellas.
