There’s probably one of you who knows who George Best is, and that’s fine, but now you are going to have a favorite soccer player of all-time.
George Best was a superstar for Manchester United back through the 60’s going into the 70’s, and was so popular he was nicknamed the “Fifth Beatle”. He ran the soccer world, but was a wild card off the field. He dated super models and beauty pageants, but had a itch for booze.
Despite his wild, and at times destructive life, Best still has some quotes to ever come out of an athletes mouth. Not sold? Here’s a few quotes of his:
In 1969 I gave up women and alcohol — it was the worst 20 minutes of my life.
I used to go missing a lot… Miss Canada, Miss United Kingdom, Miss World.
If I had been ugly, you’d never have heard of Pelè.
I spent a lot of money money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.
Have this kind of bravado and reckless abandonment this weekend. Go find your Miss World. Go order that extra beer. And as always, kick it easy.
