Happy Tuesday Bannon Blogger Backers,
As a Jets fan the NFL Draft is like my SuperBowl. I was writing Mock Draft Blogs before I even knew how to type. Receipts?? There are none but let’s just say I have no idea what I am talking about when it comes to guessing who the 32 NFL team picks on Day 1. This is why I have decided to stray from the pack and only release the top 10 picks I believe will be picked. Many will say that’s #EnjoyTheGo (For you first timers, that is Charmin’s Slogan) Guessing 32 picks is very hard and respect to the Big J’s and Steven Cheah who think they have a finger on the pulse. Here at The Bookies Basement, we do things differently! That seems like enough words, let get into it.
1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Aidan Hutchinson
Jags would be taking Evan Neal but they decided to go and tag Cam Robinson. Jags cop the 2nd best DE in the draft first overall who will provided Day 1 help to that sad defense. Good for the Jaguars!
2. Detroit Lions: Kyle Hamilton
Dan Campbell is a defensive minded HC and he will not pass on the best defensive player in the draft. Drafting a safety this high is very very risky but Kyle will be a HOFer in 12 years.
3. Houston Texans: Kayvon Thibodeaux
Lovie is also defensive minded HC and he will not pass on the best DE in the draft. Kay was talking about chess in his combine interviews. Larry Fitz is the first player who comes to mind when I combine the NFL and chess and he turned out alright.
4. NY Jets: Ikem Ekwonu
Jets grab the best run blocking big man in the draft. He will start at RG along side Fant. If the Jets can sign Bozeman or Jensen they will have a top 5 O Line in the league for Wilson and Mike Carter.
5. NY Giants: Evan Neal
Neal is the best tackle in the draft. Jets pass on him because they truly need a guard who could start at T in the coming years. Giants start their rebuild with trying to protect Trubisky. LOL
6. Carolina Panthers: Charles Cross
My buddy “Brooks” says someone named “Charles” doesn’t belong in the trenches. I kinda believe him but the Panthers need to build their o-line for the QB they end up drafting next year with the first overal pick.
7. NY Giants: Derek Stingley Jr.
The Giants take a “swing” on Stingley who is supposedly dropping on Big Boards. Go peep the tapes, kid has locked down Jamaar Chase at LSU practices.
8. Atlanta Falcons: Garret Wilson
Calvin Ridley is one of us! Falcons gain cap space but lose their best WR to do parlays. Could see them going with a Bama wideout but Wilson is the most pro ready.
9. Seattle Seahawks: George Karlaftis
The Broncos were going to pick Malik Willis but Russ had to go get traded and make my day a little harder. Hawks in a total rebuild, take the next best DE on the board who I think is going to STINK in the NFL.
10. NY Jets: Sauce Gardner
Jets make a little splash and don’t go wideout here. Taking what I think is the best CB in the draft. Dude showed up to the combine wearing a blazer and a “SAUCE” chain. I need Sauce in NYC!
There is it folks. Mock Draft 1.0 (Top 10). Tomorrow we will probably have to throw this one out because of another blockbuster QB trade but for now, we wait….
